Geoff Beattie, Managing Director, Cohn & Wolfe Consultancy
As the leader of C&W’s new global consultancy practice, Geoff Beattie offers clients advice on how to tackle some of their most difficult issues. Geoff has substantial experience in the oil & gas business, where he has consulted on subjects such as climate change, and alternative energies. He also works in the engineering industry, with a focus on complex issues like nuclear power, sustainable development and water technology. Geoff has expertise in the telecoms industry, having been an adviser to Nokia Mobile Phones, Nokia Networks, and Nortel Networks, helping senior management communicate on contentious subjects such as the business case for 3G technology. And he has worked with significant clients in financial services, enterprise computing, IT security and the media. Geoff joined Cohn & Wolfe at the end of 2006 as Managing Director of the London office. Before that, he was the UK CEO of Pleon, one of the largest communications agencies in Europe. He co-founded a London agency, HBL Media, which is still going strong a decade later. Geoff’s background is in television and newspapers. He was a senior producer at GMTV, the UK’s largest morning show, and a producer at Scottish Television.
