Patricia Godefroy, President and General Manager, Cohn & Wolfe Los Angeles
Pat Godefroy has 20 years of marketing, communications and management
experience. As president and general manager of the Los Angeles office of Cohn & Wolfe, Pat has bottom-line responsibility for the $7 million office. She is in charge of a 30-person staff, senior client relationships, business development and financial management.
A hands-on manager, Pat is proud to have led teams that have earned more than 350 national and regional professional awards of excellence in virtually every PR category recognized.
Pat spent the first nine years of her career at the international communications firm of Burson-Marsteller in its Los Angeles office. She joined the firm as a college intern and rose through the ranks to vice president/group manager of its consumer marketing business unit.
In 1991, she left Burson-Marsteller to co-found an independent Los Angeles-based agency, Douglas Consulting Group, which was acquired by Cohn & Wolfe in 1999. As a partner and president of that firm, Pat managed award-winning public relations programs for leading brands such as Starbucks, Hilton Hotels Corporation, Taco Bell, Del Monte, Sega of America, Hunt-Wesson, Upper Deck, Kahlua and Sara Lee. She also was instrumental in the establishment of The DVD Entertainment Group, and marketing communications management for The Interactive Digital Software Association (IDSA) as well as the industry’s national trade show, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
Pat’s broad brand marketing and corporate communications experience also includes work for American Airlines, Coca-Cola, Embassy Suites Hotels, Hampton Inn Hotels, Warner Home Video, M&M Mars, Nissin Foods, Contadina, Hunt-Wesson, Kraft General Foods, Los Cabos Tourism Commission, American Suzuki, Procter & Gamble, Clorox, The Vons Companies, Ralston Purina and Miller Brewing.
In addition to brand marketing, Pat has considerable issues management and crisis counseling experience for clients such as Hilton, Starbucks Coffee Company, Baskin-Robbins, Jon Douglas Company, Vons, Upper Deck and National Medical Enterprises.
Pat is a cum laude graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Southern California.
