Ideas that Matter

Melissa works with leaders and innovators across the entertainment spectrum – from major Hollywood studios and videogame publishers to top retailers and toy companies determined to connect their brands and properties to a growing audience of consumers with an insatiable appetite for all-things entertainment. She has a unique talent for fusing entertainment lifestyle trends with creative execution that delivers spot on positioning and communications solutions for clients.

Bold Brand Work

Melissa illuminated the world of flight for Nike and Air Jordan at the Museum of Flying; unveiled the first camera phone for Sony Ericsson; built a strategic communications campaign for the Steven Spielberg-designed GameWorks; launched the blu-ray format for Sony; and been a director on the red carpet for years. Her bolder-than-average approach has led to vast expertise in licensed products and entertainment properties, and she has activated campaigns designed to reach families, young adults, teens and tweens for such clients as Disney, Mattel, Sony Pictures, Ubisoft and Walmart. Melissa also brings an insider’s perspective having run PR departments at Fox and Sega.

Creative Highlight

When DreamWorks and Walmart wanted to make a major splash around their unique “retailtainment” partnership for the animated 3D movie “How to Train Your Dragon,” Melissa docked a 40-foot Viking ship in Times Square. With just 30 days to make it happen including permits, construction of the ship and securing talent, it was an around the clock labor of love. The two-day event was replete with a sea of toys and apparel, Norsemen, and a ship-side press junket with America Ferrera, voice talent from the film and top executives from DreamWorks and Walmart. The campaign reached an audience of 684 million with an ad equivalency of $7.3 million. Anchors aweigh!
