    Profile

    Ideas that matter

A Canadian based in Vermont, with an office in San Francisco and New York, and clients in Latin America and Japan. Welcome to Bob’s world, where days span time zones and every seat is a workspace. Bob’s the ultimate crash test dummy for mobile and enterprise technology, giving him the empathetic edge in developing client strategies that blend creative ideas with frontline war stories.

    Bold brand work

Under Bob’s leadership, the Panasonic Toughbook account team has gained a reputation as fearless as the products they promote. Bob has sent Toughbook computers to the top of Mount Everest; dispatched a reporter from Forbes magazine to the inside of a tiger’s cage; and even stood by while an expert marksman unloaded a barrage of bullets into the hardware. All in a day’s work when you’re building the toughest brand in technology.

    Career highlight

Alongside the PR awards on Bob’s office wall hang a collection of platinum discs from his previous career, working with bands such as The Rankin Family and Sloan. As a twenty-something rock band manager back in the early 1990s, Bob learned that, no matter what, the show must go on.

    Blog entry

It’s getting difficult to stay on top of all the new social networking and digital communications platforms available today: Google Buzz, Foursquare, Posterous and Google Wave are seeking to match the more established communities like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. It wasn’t always like this; new media channels didn’t just sprout up every week. To say it’s changed the daily activities of PR professionals over the past ten years is a drastic understatement.
