Cohn & Wolfe Celebrates Four Grand Prix at 2016 Eurobest Awards

Campaigns for The Swedish Tourist Association and Heineken take home 19 awards in total

Rome – December 5, 2016 – Cohn & Wolfe, a global communications agency, celebrated four Grand Prix and three Gold Awards at the 2016 Eurobest Awards, held in Rome on Friday, December 2. The agency took home a Grand Prix in four categories - PR, Direct, Mobile and Promo and Activation - as well as two Gold, four Silver and three Bronze Awards for ‘The Swedish Number,’ a campaign for the Swedish Tourist Association. The agency also won a Gold Award in PR and five Silver Awards across the Film, Media, PR and Promo and Activation categories for ‘The Dilemma,’ a campaign for Heineken.

Cohn & Wolfe handled global PR strategy and execution on behalf of ‘The Swedish Number,’ in partnership with INGO and Grey NY, for the Swedish Tourist Association (STF). In this unique campaign, people from all over the world could call a phone number to be connected to “a random Swede.” The campaign was executed in partnership with lead creative agency INGO, which developed the concept, and Grey New York. The Swedish Number earned coverage across TV, radio, newspapers, blogs and social media, and received 197,678 calls from 190 (out of the total 195) countries.

‘The Dilemma,’ a stunt and viral video that drove home the fun of watching football matches with friends, leveraged Heineken’s sponsorship of the Champions League to reach beer-drinking sports fans in Italy and beyond. The film – which showed a passionate football fan forced to choose between VIP seats to a high-profile match and watching the game elsewhere with his friends – gained international PR exposure, racking up over 1.2 million views on the Italian section of Facebook and 1 million views on YouTube (with no media budget), as well as garnering great visibility in sports and general consumer press. Cohn & Wolfe handled PR for the campaign, based on an idea by Publicis Italy and in partnership with Starcom MediaVest and Bedeschi Film.

The Eurobest Awards feature almost 5,000 entries from 47 different countries and is considered one of the most prestigious awards programs in the region. The Awards are presented at the end of the Eurobest festival, an annual gathering that brings together thousands of participants united in a common goal: to identify, discuss and celebrate the very best in European creativity.
