Cohn & Wolfe Named EMEA Regional Network of the Year at ICCO Global Awards

Agency also honoured for World’s Best PR Campaign - Consumer
for ‘The Swedish Number’

 
London – December 1, 2016 – Cohn & Wolfe, a global communications agency, was recognized tonight as EMEA Regional Network of the Year at the 2016 ICCO Global Awards in London. The agency also picked up the trophy for ‘World’s Best PR Campaign – Consumer’ for ‘The Swedish Number,’ a programme by Cohn & Wolfe Sweden (Stockholm), in partnership with INGO and Grey New York, for the Swedish Tourist Association.
 
These prestigious honours cap a remarkable year for Cohn & Wolfe in EMEA, highlighted by double-digit revenue growth, remarkable new business performance and stand-out creative output, marked by the agency’s EMEA offices sharing 17 Cannes Lions.

The annual ICCO Global PR Awards benchmark the finest excellence in PR, and are globally recognised by PR trade associations representing 48 countries worldwide. Judges are drawn from leading firms across the world and decide winners based purely on effectiveness, measurement, results and impact.
 
Cohn & Wolfe’s momentum across EMEA has accelerated throughout 2016 with stand-out growth in Germany (143%), UK (17%), Italy (15%) and Spain (20%). This year also represents a creative high watermark for the firm in EMEA, with its teams in Sweden, Italy and Germany sharing a host of international and national honours.
 
The ‘Swedish Number’ campaign, acclaimed as ‘World’s Best PR Campaign - Consumer’ at the ICCO Awards, has already picked up a host of national, international and global honours in 2016 with 13 Cannes Lions (including one Titanium Lion). At the center of the campaign was the actual ‘Swedish Number,’ an international phone line that was answered by random citizens of Sweden who each shared their own unique perspective about the country and its many attractions. Callers from more than 185 countries dialed the number, delivering nine billion media impressions and even attracting the attention of US President Barack Obama.
 
Cohn & Wolfe is also proud of its commitment to talent, people development and diversity and inclusion, with women representing 57% of its EMEA leadership. Earlier this year Cohn & Wolfe was also honoured by The Holmes Report as ‘Best European Network to Work For’ – judged based on the direct feedback of staff. A record 88% of Cohn & Wolfe EMEA staff feel proud to work for the agency, with 91% saying the agency is also a fun place to work.
