Cohn & Wolfe wins big at 2012 MarCom Awards


New York – November 6, 2012 – Cohn & Wolfe (www.cohnwolfe.com), a leading global communications agency, won four platinum awards and one gold award at the 2012 MarCom Awards on November 6, 2012. The wins recognized the company’s broad range of talents, from client work to internal programs.

Solta Medical

  • Platinum Award for Television Placement: Liposonix – Barbara Walters 20/20 Special

When Solta Medical, Inc. acquired aesthetic fat-reduction treatment Liposonix, Cohn & Wolfe helped relaunch the brand and change the brand perception of media and consumers across the globe. Incorporating a survey of more than 1,000 women regarding the “State of Love Handles,” a strategic platform titled “Is it in your Skinny Jeans or your Belly Genes?” and media events around the globe, Cohn & Wolfe drove buzz, demand and sales while giving influential journalists a firsthand look at the brand new Liposonix. In only two months, the brand was featured on four national TV shows, landed coverage in key publications around the world, garnered more than 715 million media impressions through Q3 and sold out in doctors’ offices across the globe.

Project Kaisei

  • Platinum Award for Pro Bono: It takes a mouse to save a fish

In 2011, Cohn & Wolfe partnered with pro-bono client Project Kaisei to help raise awareness and funds for their mission of cleaning up plastic waste in the oceans. After a brainstorm involving offices across the globe, C&W created “Save Kai”, a Facebook-based, 24/7 eco-reality show starring one small goldfish. The social media based campaign asked viewers to donate over a 30-day period, or risk having the fish move to a plastic-polluted tank. Combined with Kaisei-inspired fundraising events around the world, Save Kai helped raise over $20,000 for Project Kaisei’s next ocean clean-up voyage, doubled their Facebook fans and reached 4.7 million Twitter followers. This global campaign generated buzz around the world and succeeded in drawing from the collaborative spirit of more than 500 Cohn & Wolfe employees in 18 offices worldwide.
