Cohn & Wolfe Wins Big at 2014 Hong Kong PR Awards

Agency awarded in 6 categories for work with PMQ and Paradise Group Holdings

Hong Kong – November 26, 2014 – Cohn & Wolfe, a leading global communications agency, won six Hong Kong PR Awards for its work with art hub PMQ Management Co. and restaurant group Paradise Group Holdings. These awards continue a year of record-setting wins for Cohn & Wolfe’s Asia-Pacific teams, beginning with two Cannes Health Awards for its work with GlaxoSmithKline Singapore and a Diamond SABRE Award for its work with air purifier manufacturer BlueAir.  Earlier this month, the PMQ Management and Paradise Group Holdings campaigns each won an award at the Marketing Excellence Awards held in Hong Kong.

“To say that this year has been anything short of amazing on the awards front is selling our teams short,” said Doug Buemi, Vice Chairman, Regional Director, Asia-Pacific, Cohn & Wolfe. “The campaigns for PMQ and Paradise Group Holdings showcase what Cohn & Wolfe does best: marrying the crucial idea of an authentic brand story with a spark that captures the attention of the brands’ target audiences.”

As Hong Kong’s premiere event in the industry, the PR Awards celebrate excellence across the public relations spectrum. Recognizing both independent agencies and large-scale PR firms, the judges look for campaigns that have achieved measureable success through sound and strategic communications in the Hong Kong market. The judging panel is comprised of senior professionals in the industry.

  • 1600 Pandas World Tour in Hong Kong: Creativity Meets Conservation
  • PMQ Management Co. Ltd.

Citizens and tourists in Hong Kong were greeted to an unexpected sight this summer: 1,600 papier-mâché pandas “touring” the city’s most well-known sites. The “1600 Pandas World Tour in Hong Kong: Creativity Meets Conservation” was organized by PMQ Management Co., the latest creativity and design hub in Hong Kong, and curated by AllRightsReserved, to maximize awareness and increase traffic to the newly opened artistic venue. Over the 6-week campaign, the activities and events surrounding the pandas successfully drew public attention and attendance to PMQ, boosting the hub’s reputation as a unique venue to view art and design in Hong Kong.  Cohn & Wolfe’s wide-reaching press outreach with regional and international media had a clear effect on the campaign’s success, with 95% of visitors agreeing that the 1600 Pandas Exhibition aroused their awareness towards PMQ. The pandas even made the front page of the New York Times, putting the campaign, and PMQ, on the global stage.

  • Legendary Dynasty Xiao Long Bao
  • Paradise Group Holdings

Paradise Group Holdings successfully launched its signature Chinese restaurant brand – Paradise Dynasty – in Hong Kong in the summer of 2014 with a series of integrated marketing programs formulated by Cohn & Wolfe. Involving innovative guerilla marketing parades, media relations, advertising and social media outreach, the restaurant’s launch was a great success, becoming the new “hotspot” among food bloggers, the media and consumers.  The campaign helped the restaurant consistently achieve full bookings through the two months post opening, breaking the record for most guests in the shopping mall where it’s based, with over 2,000 guests, netting over $30,000 in a single day. The campaign built fantastic brand awareness for Paradise Dynasty and consumers keep coming back because of the engaging digital and social media programs that mirror the consistent quality food served at the restaurant.
