Cohn & Wolfe's Annie Longsworth named to PRWeek's "Top 40 Under 40"
New York/San Francisco – Cohn & Wolfe Global Sustainability Practice head and San Francisco market leader, Annie Longsworth, has been named to PRWeek’s prestigious “Top 40 Under 40,” an annual ranking of the communications industry’s 40 most accomplished PR professionals under the age of 40. The list includes leaders and emerging stars from the biggest agencies and corporations in the world.
Under Annie’s leadership, Cohn & Wolfe’s San Francisco office has become one of the agency’s flagship offices with an impressive and wide-ranging client roster, particularly in high-growth areas like Technology and Sustainability. In 2007, she launched Cohn & Wolfe’s Global Sustainability Practice devoted to communication strategies around the topics of sustainability, alternative energy and environmental strategy. The practice was among the first of its kind, and has since become a leader with clients all across the sustainability spectrum, from the biggest global energy companies to the leading all-natural consumer brands. Annie was also instrumental in launching the influential annual Green Brands study with Landor Associates that gauges consumer perceptions and insights on environmental issues and brands.
Said PRWeek of Annie Longsworth: “As the youngest president at Cohn & Wolfe, Annie Longsworth has transformed the firm's San Francisco office. Under her tenure, the office has gone from being on its last leg after the dot-com bust to making record growth and profits. But Longsworth had an even larger vision for the agency. Her passion for green inspired her to launch Cohn & Wolfe's global sustainability practice in 2007. She developed the concept and business case on her own, and after its first 12 months secured six prominent clients. Even still, Longsworth continues to drive new business and keeps staff motivated by launching programs like a professional adviser system.”
“Cohn & Wolfe rewards entrepreneurial spirit, and encourages creativity, resourcefulness and collaboration,” said Longsworth. “I am fortunate to have come here at a pivotal point in my career, and to work with amazing and dedicated people all over the world. I am especially grateful to Claudia Carasso and my remarkable team in San Francisco, with whom I feel I share this recognition.”
Said Donna Imperato, CEO of Cohn & Wolfe: “Annie exemplifies the Cohn & Wolfe spirit. She leads one our most vibrant offices, one that has become the center for our U.S. technology and sustainability practices. Through her disciplined operational excellence, commitment to outstanding client service, and dedication to creating a great office environment, Annie is a tremendous leader and has been invaluable to our agency’s growth.”
As president and managing director of the San Francisco office, she supervises the day-to-day operations of the office as well as oversees strategy for multiple clients. Overall, Annie has 15 years of communications experience including editorial positions with U.S. business and technology publications and providing strategic marketing communications support for a wide range of companies, from start-ups to multinationals.
