Jim has designed hundreds of communication programs for companies in a variety of industries. He has launched new products; extended the life of old ones; helped companies manage through crisis; positioned executives as thought leaders; helped hundreds of companies raise their public profiles; and helped many others sidestep the glare of publicity as they worked through controversies and crises.

Bold brand work

As a senior counselor in Corporate, Jim has created programs to turn negatives into positives for clients as varied as Gateway, 3Com, Nortel Networks, Bayer Healthcare, Capgemini, Urban Retail Properties, ING and many others. He has been called on to find innovative ways to enhance and protect brands and to motivate loyalty and purchases from key stakeholders.

Creative highlight

A reformed newspaper reporter and editor, Jim spent the first half of his career creating issues for companies – and the last half helping companies to solve their issues. One proud moment was when Jim reversed the public perception of a leading healthcare brand that had announced a local plant closure in a small Midwestern city, and planned to demolish a million-square-foot industrial landmark. When the company immediately experienced a union and community backlash, Jim recommended giving away the plant to any entity committing to create new jobs in the community. As a result, 350 new positions were attracted to the hard-pressed town and the healthcare client saved millions in already set-aside demolition expenses.
